The first thing we'll need to do is to scope out your project in detail. This means working out the pages and functionality required as well as setting project goals, deadlines and budgets. We'll discuss the look-and-feel of your new site and this is the perfect opportunity for you to tell me any specific ideas you've had. When we're both happy, I'll send across the invoice for the commencement deposit, then we can get started.
In the next step of the design process we'll go beyond looking at any design references we've discussed and get into the real nitty gritty of designing your new site. We'll discuss fonts and colour schemes and start to put together some of the content elements that we'll be using throughout the site.
At this point, I'll need you to have sent over the content for each of the pages of the new site. This means sending all of the final copy/text and images. Although small content changes often occur throughout the design process, it's useful to have this compiled from the outset so that I can design each page around its content.
Now that I have all of the content for the site and we're both pretty clear on the site's aesthetic, I'll start to build the site out. This remains a collaborative process as I'll send pages and content elements to be approved throughout, so there will be plenty of opportunity to review the work.
Once this process has been completed and we're both happy with the result, we'll conduct thorough tests of the site to check it's performing as it should. This includes checking for any issues with the site's responsiveness to different device sizes, speed/load testing, browser compatibility and general functionality.
At this point I'll send over the invoice for the final balance and then your brand new site will be released to the world!
